Hey, my name is Juan Hernandez, and I'm currently a sophomore at East Carolina University. Attending East Carolina University has widened my horizons towards learning about my local area and making an impact on the city of Greenville.

 

I currently serve as the Music Director at WZMB 91.3 FM, and work with the station by promoting different artists by connecting the university with independent music labels. Before gaining the music director position, I have learned how to implement different communication techniques at WZMB by understanding the enriching field that encompasses analytical, creative and interpersonal skills. During my time at WZMB, I reported breaking news on local radio broadcasts surrounding the Greenville area, which in turn, helped me understand how I am able to perform acts of service to others while making a change in the community.

 

Besides being the Music Director of WZMB, I have my own show, "The Suede Hour" in which I discuss current indie R&B, Hip-hop, and Alternative Neo Soul artists. I co-host "Trillville" with DJ Voncasey in where we talk about current news within the hip-hop community. I plan to continue my service towards East Carolina, WZMB, and Greenville, and continue the progress of various communities around my area.
